Tree Pruning - Central Coast & Lake Macquarie
Pruning is necessary for trees to maintain strong structure and form. If the right pruning is performed from the start a tree should be low in maintenance and be a reduced safety hazard once it matures.
- Crown clearing/raising: Branches that overhang houses, parks or other public areas need to be assessed to determine whether they are safe. Removal is recommended when the tree:
- is dead or dying
- is considered irreparably hazardous
- is causing an obstruction that is impossible to correct through pruning
- is crowding and causing harm to other trees
- is to be replaced by a more suitable specimen
- is located in an area where new construction requires removal
